Ten Thousand Charms – Join Us

“I will arise and go to Jesus,
He will embrace me in His arms;
and in the arms of my dear Savior,

oh, there are ten thousand charms.”
from “Come, Ye Sinners”

Ten Thousand Charms is an informal way for women to attentively mark the beauty of Christ and to re-fall in love with Him day after day.

Would you like to join us? You can.

1. Pray that God would open your eyes to see the full beauty of Jesus.

2. Begin counting each and every charm: His character, deeds, acts, miracles, mercies and more.

3. I like to count all day long every day, but it helps me to compile a list of His charms at fairly regular intervals.

4. I hope to add to His endless list of charms every weekend, so that I can begin and end each week by re-falling in love with Him! Of course, you can choose your own favorite day of the week.

5. Feel free to privately journal your reasons for loving Jesus or write them in the comment box below. We will all be blessed by your words of love.

6. If you would like to blog your list, you can grab the Ten Thousand Charms graphic from the code below and link back to this page.

7. If you would like to add your blog to the Ten Thousand Charms community of women and bless others who are living in love with Jesus, just send me your blog’s name so we can list it below and link back to your blog.

8. Thank you for joining me in loving Him.

Winners – Top Ten Blogs for 2009

The Beauty of Blogs

by Kim Avery ~ As I look back over my life, I realize that a deep passion for my Lord has been more often caught than taught. Don’t get me wrong. I love to read, learn, and sit under fabulous teaching. But all too often, I walk away smarter but not a bit more like Christ.

It’s hard to know how learning the names of the 12 disciples will help me when the kids are up all night, the dog throws up on the carpet, and my husband calls from work to say the boss will be coming home for dinner.  Tonight.

On the other hand, when I see God’s wonderful truths lived out in someone else’s life day by day, I get it. Call me a little slow, but walking alongside women in love with God ignites within me a fire that nothing can put out.

No More Isolation

Alas, this doing life together used to be a dream with no hope of ever coming true. I work on the phone. From home. I live in a small town and I barely know my neighbors’ names.

No more. With a high speed internet connection and a shiny black keyboard, I am no longer alone. Godly Christian women exist.  And better than that, they blog.  They blog about cooking and cleaning, spoiling and spanking, love and life. Best of all, these humble, generous women write about the Christ who is in the midst of it all.

Thank You

Dear bloggers, you have made me laugh, cry, and everything in between. You have shown me Christ. Thank you. I can never repay you but I can try to pass on this amazing blessing. I’m Home – by Kim Avery

kim-avery-1

Deep sigh, “I’m home.” I’ve exhaled those words from many places in my life, a new house, a friendly church, a circle of friends, and my husband’s arms. Each of them somehow provided a nest of security, a safe, welcoming place to be.  Home.

first-home-buyersI feel at home at my house because I have a husband who winks at me even when I wear my grungy clothes.  My church is home for I can belt out hymns at the top of my lungs and no one runs away.  And at home with family and friends, I rest, learn, grow, and stretch toward the light of who God created me to be.  Home is a beautiful place to be.

I have to confess, however, that this is first time in my life when I’ve walked into a website and deliciously sighed, “I’m home.” The new Life Coaching for Christian Women website has been a dream of mine for years.  I’ve had a deep ache to create and enjoy a place where women can come, relax, laugh, cry, learn and grow – a place where I could meet them and they could meet me and together we could lead each other to Jesus’ feet. This new website is the foundation for that place.

Linked in spirit, together let’s linger over a tantalizing article, look for Christ to appear in the midst of an audio, reach for new heights through an eCoaching course, or truly connect in a coaching session over the phone.  Whether your soul is soaring at the wonder of Christ or you are weeping alone in pain, I am glad you are here and I hope you will make yourself at home.
