Meet Linda Shull ~ Associate Coach
I love to dance. My youngest son, who is a dance teacher/entrepreneur, knows this and when he comes home from college, we dance. He leads me in Foxtrot, Swing and Latin steps to his playlist around the kitchen floor. He leads, I smile! Dancing with an experienced partner, like my son Josh, brings a sense of rejuvenation and lightness to my steps for the rest of the day! Who knows, perhaps Dancing with the Stars will actually have a mother/son season?!
Coaching, like dancing, is a type of partnership that releases potential, motivation and possibility. Engaging in a supportive coaching relationship is exciting because new steps are learned, action is taken, lives are changed and wholeness is regained. As a coach, I find it a privilege to listen and engage as a partner in this “dancing” process of discovery and growth in the lives of other women.
Besides being an amateur of amateur dancers, who is Linda Shull?
I am loved. The first thought that comes to mind is that I know I am loved by God. It was at the age of 12, during my confirmation, and again at 16, when I heeded God’s call on my life to follow Him as a young believer. The Lord discipled me through high school Bible studies, college ministries and subsequently, during the years when my husband attended seminary. We have enjoyed almost 23 years as a couple in ministry to others!
I am a listener. I love to listen to people. I love walking alongside women as they process, share, and discover new perspectives to everyday situations, challenges and crises. As a life coach I listen intentionally for the leading of the Holy Spirit to help connect my clients to their God-given potential so that they may grow and take new action in their lives! Through the years, I have enjoyed listening to women as a fitness instructor, Bible study teacher, pastor’s wife, homeschooling mom, school teacher, and now as a Professional Life Coach.
I am a learner. I have committed myself to being a lifelong learner! That “learner” attitude must first begin in my relationship with God. I find it motivating to live in His refining process as a learner, unbound by perfection, covered by grace. This grace propels me forward and gives me the desire to strive for wholeness in all areas of my life. To this end, I continue to research and enjoy lifelong sustainable fitness programs, healthy eating, and Biblical thinking.
I am well familiar with hardships in life. I have experienced on-going family health problems, surgeries, and emergencies. I have walked through the valley of job loss, betrayal of friends and church conflict, and times when God doesn’t seem to answer. Still, I have experienced the faithful and provisional hand of God! There is LIFE in the deepest trial and God is very present there. It is during these times that God speaks louder and clearer, if we only listen. The Holy Spirit has taught me to persevere and to “press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 3:14). It is through the hardships of life that God often lays the foundations for true wellness and wholeness. I am very familiar with “dancing” with God through deserts and finding the “Water of life” in the midst of it all!
I am a leader. I love leading anything that puts me in contact with women, such as teaching, leading fitness workouts and discipling! I have taught at the elementary level in public, private and Christian schools, and have spent ten years homeschooling my own sons. I have also led a franchised fitness program and later developed my own Christian fitness program. In the church, I have led women’s ministries, M.O.T.H.E.R.S., Women to Women, Precept Inductive Bible Studies, various Sunday school classes, and helped to plant a new church. Finally, I have loved being a pastor’s wife and leading women as a part of three wonderful churches!
I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I am married to my best friend, who is a pastor with a true Shepherd and Servant heart. My husband loves ministering to people, teaching creatively and visually as well as mentoring and coaching others. We have been married 35 years!
I have three sons, who bring me great joy in unique ways. Each one is gifted creatively and is a blessing to my husband and me! We also have two beautiful daughters-in-law, who not only are the perfect complement to their husbands, but who are also gifted and talented women in their own fields! Lastly, we are currently blessed with two little grand-daughters who bring fun and laughter into our lives!
I am an enjoyer of God’s creation. I see God’s infinite wisdom, beauty and faithfulness in His handiwork and find time with animals and nature very calming. I love studying the Bible, dancing, decorating, health and fitness, and nutrition! I enjoy connecting with friends and coaching women. Playing with my grand-daughters and spending time with family are other avenues of fun for me!
