Kim: How did you become involved in ministry?

Julie: I’m a firm believer we are all called to the ministry, whether preaching to masses, teaching little children, giving financially, caring for the sick, cooking for the hungry, or….well the list can go on and on infinitely…The truth is God has fashioned each one of us uniquely. We have special gifts and talents that can be used to minister His grace and mercy. So, how did I become involved with ministry? I recognized it was God’s heartbeat for ALL believers. 🙂

Kim: What are some of the exciting things that God may be calling you to in the near future?

Julie: Currently, my family and I are moving to Florida to partner up with The Well Network to do missionary service to a few different countries. I’m writing a new book entitled When He Whispers…God’s Speaking Even When You Think He Isn’t. I’m travelling to minister in 9 different Nations. I’m continuing to host a nationwide Blog Talk Radio Broadcast every Wednesday at 2 PM EST. I’m so excited about the future, I can’t stand it! LOL. I don’t know everything God has planned, but I’m convinced it’s good!

Kim: What do you love most about serving Christian women?

Julie: Women who have a genuine love for God are among the most beautiful of all of God’s creation. I love watching their excitement to be used by Him turn from confusion to certainty. I thoroughly enjoy ministering to women because they aren’t afraid to get real with God! They have a genuine hunger and enthusiasm to be used by Him. Women are complex. We care deeply. We feel passionately. And when we channel our God-given resources…we are unstoppable!

Kim: What are some of the challenges that you face?

Julie: I’m my own worst critic. I take myself way too seriously. BUT…God always helps me to laugh at myself. My challenges are no different than any other women…I tend to compare myself with others who are more successful…I face the effects of an economically depressed society…On bad days I struggle to know whether I’m truly walking in the center of God’s will. I have to carefully juggle all the demands of life. BUT…I am secure in this truth… “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.”

Kim: How long have you been a Christian?

Julie: I always walked with the Lord. I gave my life to him at the age of 6. Having been brought up in a dysfunctional family I faced a lot of struggles…It wasn’t until I was 28 that I really understood God’s grace. Though I had preached on God’s grace I never understood it until I went through a divorce. During that season I felt as though my life had become useless. I began to make bad decisions of drinking…one night at the end of a bar…I sat waiting on some friends to show up. While sitting there, the Spirit of God impressed on my heart these simple words—“Julie there is no where you can go that my grace won’t find you still.” I began to cry. I said, “God, this is a bar…You are NOT suppose to be in a bar.” I’ll never forget that moment. I’ll never forget that grace.

Kim: What are some of the things that have helped you fall more in love with Jesus?

Julie: God continually amazes me with His presence. Stories like the one shared above have caused me to love Jesus so passionately. Over the years I’ve learned to distinguish His voice. The words He lavishes on me each day continually astonish me. Every day, He teaches me deeper truth of His love, mercy, grace, patience, and overall good will toward me. The fact that He lets me partner with Him brings me joy. His love is deeper than any friendship I’ve ever experienced. He sees all of my secrets, my shame, my sinful inclinations…and yet He loves me and calls me beautiful! WOW! His humility draws me to love Him! He is my audience of ONE! He alone brings my life purpose and restores my hopes. The fact that He loves me…just because He’s chosen to…well…how can you not love Someone like that?

Kim: What are some ways that busy Christian women today can stay close to the Lord?

Julie: Stay away from the futile game of comparisons…When we compare our lives to one another we lose focus. Ask God what He longs to do with your life…and focus your attention on that.

Make the time to spend time with God in prayer and read His Word…NO EXCUSES…Quiet the “TO DO LIST” and simply listen for His voice. He will lengthen your day by helping you accomplish more in less time…But we have to spend time with Him to discern Him more accurately!

Knowing our purpose of why God created us is the key to walking with Him intimately…we have to know His heartbeat…and what He desires for our life. Habakkuk 2: 1-3 is a theme verse in my life. It talks about:

1. Positioning yourself to hear God’s voice (verse 1)
2. Posting what He’s said in a place where you can read it again and again (verse 2)
3. Waiting patiently for God (verse 3)

Kim: How can we pray for you in your personal and ministry life?

Julie: OH THANK YOU…THANK YOU…THANK YOU…Please pray that God’s favor continues to shine on me, the ministry He’s entrusted to me, and of course my family. I value your prayers and would ask that as you pray for me, pray that God continues to open greater opportunities for me to reveal His love and mercy…and that He would do exceedingly above all that we could ever ask…think…or imagine! My heart’s prayer is that every moment of every day of my life would bring Him pleasure!

Kim: How can women get in touch with you and/or keep up with what you are doing?

Julie: Kim, Thank you so much for this opportunity. You are an amazing lady and it’s been a privilege to share my heart with you. The best way to get in touch with me is through my website.
