Emotional eating is sugar-coated slavery. And it’s devastating.
Today, I would like to introduce you to a dear friend and colleague of mine, Mary Lou Caskey. Mary Lou honestly confesses that her struggle with food began as a child and only escalated with each passing year.
In her own words,
Many times, the pain and stress of having a lot of loss doesn’t really hit until later. For me, it was a few years after the loss. I was again in very high stress in my life and found myself, once again obsessed with food. Food was my comfort. It was quick and always there. I found that it never satisfied, just like anything else people use to numb pain.
During all of this stress, food became even a stronger bondage. I later understood that the bondage to food was always there, and stress was the flame that fueled the bondage. The more that I turned to food under stress, the weaker I became and the less stress that I could handle.
Thankfully, God showed her a better way. With her permission, I have included her video testimony to encourage you and to give the glory to God.

Made to Crave ~ Index to Previous Posts

WOW! Marylou! Thank you for allowing Kim to post your testimony here. Perfect timing. I’m working through the Made to Crave book with a friend, and we are this chapter 14. Emotional Eating.
And, I just had a stressful time with two separate mean-spirited women and what I did was eat a chocolate chip cookie. Even by chapter 14, that was my first thought. (It was DARK chocolate and it was OATMEAL…so healthy, right? lol…hmmm…rationalization at it’s best!)
Thank you for your example in my life. Thank you for being vulnerable to share your story. Stories are powerful! Bless you bunches, Mary Lou. And thank you, Kim for posting this!
